The Skin has Eyes

I am developing a body of work looking specifically at 'blind' haptic drawing, building on ways of knowledge formation by working with the senses.

This project was initiated on my residency in the desert in Morocco over winter 2025. This year, I undertook a drawing research residency in France where I repetitively made charcoal drawings of my face purely through blind touch, 100 in total.

A selection of these drawings will be shown in a solo exhibition at Summerhall, Edinburgh from 22nd January to 21st March 2027.

The development of this work was made possible by funding from Creative Scotland to undertake a 2-month drawing research residency in France at DRAWInternational, Summer 2026.
